What is the industry growth trend for voice broadcasting? c/o LinkedIn

We have used several different service providers, all with similar basic service options. Pricing can vary greatly, as can the depth and usability of their metrics. Voice broadcasting makes a lot of sense as reverse 911, as witnessed in the recent San Diego evacuations. For the small group of people where it did not work (number not on file, away from phone, disconnected phone), it more than made up for itself with the amount of people successfully notified of the impending fires/floods.

Voice broadcasting is nice in that it is another way to reach your market. Definitely should not be overused, but for a quick message/call to action, I can be very useful. The message just needs to be VERY memorable, or the recipient will forget the call to action as soon as they put the phone down. Same reason 411 service offers the “push 1 to be connected now” option. It’s just difficult for most people to add an entire phone number to their short term memory.

Using these services, you can record and deliver a short message, and include a transfer option to push the recipient to a live sales rep, which is ideal. Similar to what collection agencies have been doing for years (the bread and butter customers for most of these services).
